Heavy Rug Yarn in 70-yard skeins? 16 skeins green, 6 each of coral and pink, 3 yellow, 2 cerise, 1 watermelon (or colors of choice).
Instructions
Motif: With yellow, * ch 3, (yarn over hook, insert hook in first ch, pull through and work off 2 lps) 3 times, yarn over and work off remaining 4 lps at one time, sl st in first ch (puff st), repeat from * 5 times—6 puff sts made, join in first puff st, fasten off.
Rnd 2: With wrong side of puff st facing, join pink in back in sp below any puff st. With right side of puffs facing, * ch 8, sl st in second st from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next st, dc in each of next 3 ch, tr in last ch, sl st in next sp below next puff st, repeat from * around, making 6 petals, join.
Rnd 3: Sl st in base of tr, * ch 1, sl st in base of next st, repeat from * around petal, working in base of each st on right side of petal and in top of each st on left side of petal. Work around each petal in same manner. Join, fasten off.
Rnd 4: Join green in back lps of sc (made in rnd 2) in back of any petal, * 5 tr in back lp between base of next 2 petals, sl st in sc of next petal, repeat from * around, join.
Rnd 5: Ch 4 (counts as 1 tr), 3 tr in sp before tr group, * 4 tr in sp on other side of same tr group, ch 3, 4 tr in sp on other side of same petal (shell made), repeat from * around, ending to correspond, join, fasten off.
Make 43 motifs, working 18 motifs with coral, 18 motifs with pink, 4 motifs with cerise and 3 motifs with watermelon.
Finishing: Sew motifs together through back lp of sts, having 3 motifs in first row, * 2 motifs in next row, 3 motifs in next row, repeat from * until all motifs are joined, arranging colors as desired.
